The programme for the IAKS Congress taking place from 27 to 30 October in Cologne has been unveiled. Throw a first glance at the ten sessions with more than 30 expert presentations.

The 24th International IAKS Congress at FSB 2015 will be held under the personal umbrellaship of Dr. Thomas Bach, IOC President, Sir Philip Craven, IPC President and Dr. Thomas de Maizière, German Minister of the Interior and Sport.

The international get-together for experts from all over the world will deal with architecturally and operationally archetypal projects, in which sustainability and social aspects are of great importance. Representatives of international sports federations, operators and planners will discuss with participants the importance of architecture and building construction for the development of various sports and emerging, socially relevant trends in exercise, health and leisure behaviour.

The congress program will cover ten sessions:

- International Trends in Public Outdoor / Indoor / Aquatic Facilities - Prize-winning projects and designs from the 2015 IOC/IPC/IAKS Awards

- Innovative Urban Conversions
- Urban open spaces for sports, leisure and play
- New ways in designing major venues
- Tourism and Leisure Infrastructure Development
